Task Group Archimedes is assigned to the scientific study and exploration of the Gamma Quadrant, conducting stellar cartography, anomaly research, planetary surveys, and early-stage first contact analysis to expand Federation knowledge.

Standing Orders

1. Conduct continuous long-range sensor sweeps of unexplored stellar phenomena.
2. Coordinate with local exploratory hubs for cooperative scientific initiatives.
3. Engage in non-intrusive observation of pre-warp civilizations when encountered.
4. Prioritize deployment of planetary survey teams to biologically unique worlds.
5. Support Federation and allied scientific outposts with technical assistance and data sharing.
6. Maintain ready protocols for subspace anomaly containment and analysis.
7. Collaborate with Task Group Sonzwaphi for joint planetary relief-science missions.
8. Report all discoveries with potential interstellar implications to Starfleet Science Command.

Area of Operations

Unlike other Task Groups, Archimedes is spread out across the quadrant, primarily well within Gamma HQ's area of operations. There are a few outliers, such as the USS Altai, that operate on or beyond the established borders.
