Task Group Sentinel is one of four Task Groups that make up Gamma Command's forces in the Gamma Quadrant. It was formerly part of Task Force 9. Sentinel is assigned to provide rapid-response security and defensive support in western sectors of the Gamma Quadrant, focusing on threat containment, emergency fleet reinforcement, and deterrence operations to uphold Starfleet presence and stability.

Standing Orders

1. All vessels are to patrol western sectors regularly and report potential incursions or destabilizing activity.
2. All vessels will respond with speed and force to any hostile actions against Starfleet, Federation colonies, or allies.
3. All vessels must be prepared to engage in fleet reinforcement or extraction operations in high-risk zones.
4. Commanding Officers are authorized to pursue and neutralize threats deemed imminent to Federation interests or life.
5. Civilian and allied distress signals are to be treated with highest priority unless overruled by command directive.
6. Vessels are to coordinate closely with science and survey groups for tactical escorts through contested regions.
7. When possible, preserve diplomatic channels with non-hostile powers to minimize the need for armed intervention.
8. All Sentinel vessels are to maintain tactical readiness and conduct regular combat readiness drills.

Area of Operations

Task Group Sentinel operates south and east of the Maran Republic and the sectors which include Yadera, Bopak and Ophinias Colony. It is headquartered at Deep Space 15.
