The 473rd Guardians will follow the regular shift assignments unless Gamma Command is in Alert Status Yellow or Red. At which time all fighter wing senior staff and pilots will be activated regardless of shift assignments and follow a modified rotation prescribed by the Wing Commander. Regular shifts will resume once Gamma Command has returned to Alert Status Green, Standard Operational Procedures are in effect, and the squadron debriefing is complete. The Wing Commander is typically on duty during Alpha Shift, but may not be in Starfighter Operations or the Launch Bay.
