An optical data network (or ODN) was a system of fiber optic cables on board starships and space stations that was used for data transfer between computers and remote terminals. There were large bundles of optical cables connecting the redundant computer cores.
ODN Relay
An ODN relay was an important computer component utilized in an optical data network aboard starships and space stations alike during the 24th century. While operating, ODN relays emitted noticeable vibrations.
ODN Recoupler
An ODN recoupler was a 24th century engineering tool that was utilized in the repair of an optical data network.
