Great Conflict

The Great Conflict was a lengthy engagement between the Dolmoqour and the native species of the Finnean Convergence Zone. Eventually, the Dolmoqour's enemies managed to overpower the Dolmoqour, and contained the parasites to their homeworld, Penduli V. Because no certain way existed to determine whether or not a person was serving as a Dolmoqour host, various species, including the Aketi, Boreriri, and Triosians, created The Guardians and charged the organization with containing the Dolmoqour threat.

After several years, it became apparent that the best solution to containing the Dolmoqour was to sacrifice the future of the region. Using all technology at their disposal, the Guardians created a vast energy barrier to create the Finnean Convergence Zone. All advanced technology, including the technology to create the barrier, was placed in an archive in the Kalisa Sector and barricaded from all species in the zone. Penduli V was similarly barricaded and subjected to a duenetic field to keep the Dolmoqour from developing the technology to escape. As an effect, technological advancements and scientific work was forbidden, and those who remained were forced to live in inhumane conditions.

As centuries passed, memories of the Great Conflict became obscured and muddied, resulting in severe culture loss and the rise of apathy.
