The Official Cover, commonly known as a fitted ball cap, has been in use by select members of the Black Hawk crew since 2374. Following the Dominion War, the cover was rarely worn, save for crew members who have stayed with the ship since the war.
In 2387, a Cover was given to Harvey Geisler as a gift upon accepting command of the vessel. He has been known to wear it on occasion.
In 2388, in keeping with the ship's honored tradition, Covers were issued to all members of the crew and considered to be an optional part of the standard duty uniform.
