Command

Chief Security Officer
Classification: Officer
Description:
A member of the bridge crew, s/he is primarily responsible for the internal security of all crew members, and the security of crew members while on away missions. S/he often serves as security team leader during times of combat, and is responsible for the safety of the ship's CO. The Chief of Security role can also be combined with the Chief Tactical Officer position, as it is on the Black Hawk.
Chief Tactical Officer
Classification: Officer
Description:
A member of the bridge crew, s/he serves at the tactical console on the bridge during most encounters. Responsible for the tactical readiness of the ship or station, s/he also doubles as the security team leader during personal combat. S/he must maintain the tactical systems, and acts as the tactical advisor to the CO.

Assistant Chief Security Officer

Description:
Responsible for helping maintain security aboard the ship or station, for providing protection for away teams, and for helping lead security teams on combat missions.
Security Officer
Classification: Officer
Description:
Trained in personal combat, both melee and ranged, security officers predominately serve as the security force aboard a ship/station, as well as accompanying away teams and providing protection for diplomats and ambassadors. Officers may also fill the role of special investigator or detective when dealing with crimes and matters of security aboard a ship/station.
Watch Commander
Classification: Enlisted
Description:
A senior enlisted NCO that manages the Master-At-Arms during a typical shift.
Master-At-Arms
Classification: Enlisted
Description:
Trained in personal combat, both melee and ranged, security officers predominately serve as the security force aboard a ship/station, as well as accompanying away teams and providing protection for diplomats and ambassadors. Officers may also fill the role of special investigator or detective when dealing with crimes and matters of security aboard a ship/station. The Master-at-Arms trained and supervised Security personnel in departmental operations, repairs, and protocols. S/he supervised weapons locker access and phaser pistol and rifle deployment, along with noting and tagging those in need of repair. S/he was also qualified to temporarily act as Chief of Security if so ordered. The Master-at-Arms otherwise reported to the Chief of Security and Deputy Chief of Security.
Armory Officer
Classification: Officer
Description:
Also known as the Master-at-Arms on some ships and stations, the Armory Officer serves as the quartermaster and armory supervisor. S/he supervises all security personnel in the operations, repairs, and protocols concerning the various weapons at their disposal; s/he also runs the armory and supervises firearm deployment.


Brig
Warden

Description:
As the supervisor of the brig, the Brig Officer is a Security Officer who serves task also as the disciplinarian and caretaker for inmates by delivering anything from punishments to food and medicine to the inmates.
Brig Officer / Detention Specialist
Classification: Enlisted
Description:
The Brig Officer is a Security Officer who has chosen to specialize in a specific role. S/he guards the brig and its cells. But there are other duties associated with this post as well. S/he is responsible for any prisoner transport, and the questioning of prisoners. Often Brig Officers have a good knowledge of forcefield technology, and are experts in escaping such confinements.


Tactical

Assistant Chief Tactical Officer

Description:
The assistant chief in the Tactical department helps maintain the tactical readiness of the ship or station , from performing upkeep on the torpedo tubes, to serving as a tactical officer on the bridge in the event that the Chief Tactical Officer is otherwise occupied.
Tactical Officer
Classification: Officer
Description:
Responsible for helping maintain the tactical readiness of the ship or station, the tactical officers serve in the armory, on the bridge, in the torpedo bays, and at other locations that aid the tactical readiness of the ship. They are also trained as security officers, but usually do not double as such.
Tactical Specialist
Classification: Enlisted
Description:
Tactical Specialists are non-commissioned officers and/or other enlisted personnel who are responsible for the upkeep and operation of tactical stations throughout the ship.
