[[Wilkins Coffee]] originated on Earth, specifically the Washington, D.C. area, in the early 20th Century. It became widely known in the 1950s for its commercials featuring two Muppet characters named Wilkins and Wontkins of which the former would offer the latter Wilkins coffee, only to violently respond when Wontkins would not accept it. This successful advertising campaign helped the brand to perform well over the next decade, but the company closed by the late 20th century.

In 2201, the brand saw a resurgence as it was adopted for several trade routes between the early [[Federation]] and several alien species.

In 2388, it became Captain [[Harvey Geisler]]'s preferred brand of coffee, often purchasing it by the crate and keeping it securely stored aboard the Black Hawk.
