	Undercrewed and overpowered, the USS Black Hawk-B has been given its first assignment: escort a convoy to the ravaged colony on [[Gavara IV]]. 	For ~~more than 400 other souls~~, the ~~mission felt like~~ the ~~perfect shakedown~~. ~~And shakedown~~ they ~~did~~, ~~all throughout~~ the ~~five-day journey~~ to ~~the Gavara system~~.		The convoy, led by the [[Clemda Merchant Association]], arrived hours late at the Bajoran wormhole. Despite a need to complete the mission quickly, Captain Geisler ordered a vigorous and complicated route to Gavara IV, hoping that it would deter the pirates, or at least make them act rashly and quickly.

			For five days, the Black Hawk and the convoy followed the flight plan to the letter. Upon arrival, the convoy was ambushed by small pirate raiders. The Black Hawk and the Squadron worked quickly to repel the pirates, but not before a small amount of medical supplies were stolen from one of the convoy vessels. Commanders Di Pasquale and Geisler interrogated a pirate they captured, but they were not able to learn anything from their prisoner.

			Nothing, that is, except confirmation that the pirates had no fear of Starfleet, and are well enough connected to avoid severe punishment....
