	The Finnean Convergence Zone was inspired by a dot on Bravo Fleet's Gamma Quadrant Map. While the Black Hawk operated under the ~~Black Hawk~~ banner, it contributed errata and updates to expand the map and details about the Zone. 	Every couple of years, a ship will attempt to exit the zone. All but one of these attempts were met with failure, the only success was at the hands of the [[Aketi]]. Other ships, including the arrogant [[Rakhari]] have tried to enter. Those attempts have always ended tragically. Still, the Vasco de Gama has carefully collected information about each attempt in the event Starfleet needs to enter.		Every couple of years, a ship will attempt to exit the zone. 			In early 2389, the [[USS Black Hawk-A]] discovered a way to enter the zone. Their method involved various modifications to the shield and deflector grids, allowing the ship to offset multiple quantum variables without being translated through various spatial dimensions. The experience was not fully successful as the Black Hawk lost power shortly before exiting the zone. The crew was also bombarded with an unknown radiation, rendering them unable to remember anything. A simple medical procedure was able to restore the crew's memories.

			Due to earlier testing, a Gryphon-class fighter was able to successfully penetrate and traverse the barrier without much difficulty. Research continues into perfecting the grid modulations in order to sustain regular travel into the zone.
